FenceDefence is a completely autonomous security system that requires NO power supply or telephone lines. The system runs off internal power packs lasting up to 12 months and incorporates its own GSM communication system.
There are two main components to the system:
Control system
Enclosed in a high impact IP67 lockable case, the GSM control system contains the GSM communication equipment and the onboard power supply. This unit is designed to withstand the daily abuse of construction site usage and can be hidden at any location on the site.
The control system can be programmed with up to 10 mobile telephone numbers to which daily status reports and alarm event alerts will be sent via SMS message.
The system can be activated / deactivated either via SMS message from a mobile ‘phone or via a wireless Arm / Disarm switch mounted at the site entrance.
Detection system
The detection system comprises a series of bars that attach to the top of the fence panels being used. These bars take approximately 30 seconds to attach to a panel and can be left attached to the panel when the site fencing is removed or taken apart.
Each bar is connected to its neighbour by way of a cable with a quick release connector for ease of use.
Any attempt to gain access to the compound by attempting to climb over the fence, will cause the bar to deflect from its normal position causing it to create a circuit resulting in an alarm activation.
Any attempt to remove a panel from the compound will result in the connection between the ‘bars’ being broken, resulting in an alarm activation.
If the fence configuration needs to be changed due to unforeseen access requirements etc. all that is required is to disconnect the cables linking the panels concerned. Panels may be added or removed at this point. When the new configuration is complete, simply reconnect the cables.
Options
AS an optional extra, a voice annunciation unit can be linked to the system providing a warning message – time date stamped – when an activation occurs. This is particularly useful in liability cases where children gain access to sites and injure themselves. Now site owners are able to provide their legal departments with confirmation that an audible warning message was given and at what time.
In addition, externally rated wireless PIR’s can be added to the system within minutes to protect site huts, tool storage sheds etc. |
